Introduction
Since version 10.8 (Mountain Lion) Mac OS X Gatekeeper rejects by default the installation of applications which are not signed by Apple Developer ID.
We do not have an Apple Developer ID, BAS software for Mac OS X therefore is unsigned.
Install unsigned applications on Mac OS X
To install unsigned applications you have to change your security settings temporarily:
- Open "System Preferences"
- Click on "Security & Privacy" icon in the "Personal" row.
- On newer versions of Mac OS X a button "Open anyway ..." will appear, if you double clicked the installation package before.
- Otherwise click on the lock in the lower left to unlock. You need administrator privileges to unlock.
- Select tab "General".
- Change "Allow applications downloaded from:" to "Anywhere".
- Install the unsigned application.
- Change "Allow applications downloaded from:" back to the previous setting. (Likely the default: "Mac App Store and identified developers").
