The session ID identifies one particular recording within the
speech corpus. It often consists of characters that give
broad categorical information about the recording (for instance
language, sex of speaker, type of recording setup, domain etc.)
and a number. The session ID is then often used in file names
within the corpus to denote data belonging to the same recording
session.
E.g. a session ID from the Verbmobil II project
G001AC where 'G' = German, 'A' = domain, 'C' = head set
Ideally a session ID should be created automatically to avoid
duplicate or malformed IDs.
