Quechua is an American Indian language widely spoken in Peru and Bolivia.
Main points of interest:
- Ejectives together with contrast between (pulmonary) voiceless unaspirated and voiceless aspirated
- Contrasting velar and uvular place of articulation.
See also K'ekchi (SoWL) for velars vs. uvular, and the
Amharic demo for ejectives from a completely different language family.
See L&M, p.35/36, for discussion.
